Details

Personality:
(include strengths, weaknesses, relationships, etc)
Traits:
Meticulous | Tolerant | Alert | Discreet | Serious | Selfish | Paranoid | Shy
Strengths:
:bulletblack: Meticulous- When he has a job to do, he does it as perfectly as he is able.
:bulletblack: Tolerant- Thanks to his travels, he has learned quite a bit about the Isles and isn't quick to judge based on herd affiliation or religion. Treat him right, get treated right in return.
:bulletblack: Alert- He has trained himself to sense another's presence and figure out if they pose a threat to him. His senses are also aided by his charm.
:bulletblack: Discreet- He is quite wonderful at keeping secrets.
:bulletblack: Serious- Good in the sense that it makes him good with his work, he doesn't quite know how to take a joke and he can sometimes take offense to joking, not making him the most fun to commune with.
Weakness:
:bulletblack:Selfish- Never having to think of an other's needs, Merlindir has grown unconsciously selfish, putting his needs above other's.
:bulletblack: Fearful/Paranoid- Though he tries to hide it, the bloodbath from his foalhood still haunts him. He is worried that the group that took his parents from him are still out to get him.
:bulletblack:Shy- Though he is fine in "professional" circumstances, when it comes to social interactions, he can be a bit awkward.
:bulletblack: Serious- Good in the sense that it makes him good with his work, he doesn't quite know how to take a joke and he can sometimes take offense to joking, not making him the most fun to commune with.
Relations:
Dúlindir- Father, deceased (NPC)
Uialil- Mother, deceased (NPC)
Mana- Cousin, unknown at this point (Played by Forget-Me-Not-Fields)
History:
(include where the fawnling was born, travels so far, and aspirations for future, etc. if the Fawnling is born of a different bloodline to their current herd, please provide reasoning)
Merilindir was born in a time of tumult for his family. His parents and a few of their relatives had separated from the main Windborne herd after came to a brutal climax. Fearing for the safety of his pregnant mate, Dúlindir gathered those close to them and set off as a small nomadic band. Merilindir was borne in a secluded area on the edge of the Burns. A couple of weeks after his birth, when Dúlindir was sure both Uialil and Merilindir were strong enough for the rough travel, the group set off to head north, hoping there would be at least a small hospitable area for them to travel. It was a rough travel through an unforgiving region, and it was a miracle that Merilindir was able to keep going. By the time that he was a weanling, the group had found a small area to temporary settle. It was there that everything went to hell.

The very Fawnlings that Dúlindir had left the herd to get away from had tracked them down. Uialil took Merilindir from the main group in hopes of escaping, but she wasn't fast enough. Their enemies charged and started slaughtering Merilindir's family. They fought back, but were outnumbered, and when one of the others realized that Uialil was missing, sussed out the hoofprints and Uialil whispered one last word- "Run!"- to her son, then ran to attack the pursuer. Merilindir obeyed, sprinting away from the bloodbath.

As he grew, Merilindir left the Windborne territory and traveled across the Western Isles, returning only when he turned three. He stayed long enough for an older nomadic Windborne doe to teach him about his magic, then left again, fearful that one of those who killed his family would find him. When he made it back out of the Windborne borders, he was ashamed by his cowardice and decided he would return, and when he did he would be skilled enough that he could take on any challenge.

Off he set, training, and it was in the Glenmore herd territory when opportunity struck. A panicked lone doe came across him training, and concerned, he went to her and asked what was wrong. It turned out her fawn had been stolen by an Oakfern Fawnling and she asked Merilindir to pursue the captor. Off he went, and with a stroke of good luck, he recovered the fawn and brought it back to its mother. In return, the doe crafted him a charm. Deciding he liked that arrangement quite well, he travelled, doing things for others in return for charms, training, of help of some other fashion.

He went about this for years, though eventually he felt that there was something lacking his life, some grand purpose. He had heard about the many deities of the different herds, and saw the peace that their beliefs brought them. Though none of their deities suited him, he wondered if believing in something might bring him similar peace. It was that thought that drew him to the Cape Splinter herd- the voice in the wind guiding them. It sounded great. Back into the Windborne lands he traveled, heading towards the Cape, hoping to find answers and purpose.

I was wondering if this handsome stag would be open to meeting Paris for this rut?
