My entry for the Wacom/Deviant Art Bring Your Visions to Life contest.
This picture easily took around 15 hours and way over 20 layers to complete. My dreams for the future aren't all that hard to guess. I want to be an artist. I want to be able to get out and paint, sketch, and draw to my heart's content. Since this is set in the future, I decided to give the classic painting easel a bit of an upgrade. Instead of the wooded contraption, it is suspended by small jets. ~Shatterglass-16 suggested that I do the same on the stool, but with my luck, I would continuously fall of, so I just went with a simple stool. My paints and palette are on top of a stack of books. I love to read, so I imagined that I would probably keep a few books with me, wherever my travels would lead me. The dog by the books is my puppy Sweenie. He's a Boglen Terrier (Beagle/Bosten Terrier) and I love him to pieces  So he shall stay with me forever! And it is supposed to be a self portrait I first drew this on paper, then ~Shatterglass-16 was nice and scanned it for me so I could colour it digitally.
